With the rush, I was only able to locate the city I was going to in a map and still the only thing that worried me was the insurance policy. I was carrying only a suitcase with clothes, my wallet with a few bucks and my plane tickets. I didn’t knew what was the address of the department I was going to stay, so I clung to the piece of paper where it was the phone number of the person that was going to take care of me while I was there, but to arrive to the town was my responsibility. I didn’t knew any Japanese... and with out knowing it I was at the mercy of fate.

It was barely a week after I joined this company and I had already been assigned to work in Japan. My new position was international relations and to seek new products to import. My studies and my career were always focused on IT... but a good trip is a good trip, and didn’t knew Asia. How could I say no? They needed a crazy guy and I needed an adventure, although I never expect something like this.

I had already checked in my bags, and my parents where there too to say goodbye. An hour before boarding I knew the insurance policy guy wasn’t going to make it and I sighted. The farewells started and my father trying to comfort said – Don’t worry nothing is going to happen. As soon as we receive the policy we will send it to you. Still worried I nodded and entered to the waiting room.

The hour I was waiting to board the airplane, I was thinking in my usual bad luck. Doesn’t it happen to you? You always carry everything, but when you don’t carry something is the time you need it the most. Still I couldn’t do anything about it, I had to wait for the mail but could do nothing but wait for the mail.

It was a normal flight to Canada. There were locked in the waiting room until the next airplane departed, two hours after we arrived. The problems began when we took off from Canada. I had never seen "Casablanca" I decided to watch it but I didn’t enjoy it at all. There is nothing crueler than to eat in front of the hungry, especially when it comes to a vice. I swear there were more than one hundred cigarettes smoked by Humphrey Bogart in that movie...
